total absorption ...and the fear. Perhaps I'm being too particular... What if I'm painting a pastiche.. How do I make this say something different? Other painters have faced this before me and I shan't be the last...I have to decide when it is finished and that, as all painters know, is the most difficult of all decisions..'
What inspires me...
Everybody who paints needs to develop and change. One cannot reproduce exactly the same stuff...it becomes meaningless
What I paint...
I never saw myself as a landscape painter. I had the usual classical art education-anatomy ,life drawing, sculpture,history of art, history of architecture.
Where I paint....
After several sad winters in England and the desperate lack of light my thoughts turned to seeking a studio in the sun.
